Post-surgery Update
Curbing the urge to scratch.
Mojo’s cyst removal surgery went well, although he would probably disagree with that statement. :)
He had two large benign cysts removed from the back of his neck/top of the shoulders area and a couple of skin tags that were very problematic.
I am usually well prepared when any of our companions have had different types of surgeries, but not this time around. Since Covid restrictions are still in place at our veterinary clinic, clients take their companions to the door and then the staff does the rest. Clients are not allowed inside and it’s simply not the same as talking with the vet face to face, and I was unaware that this would be such an extensive surgery. He cannot wear a collar or a regular harness due to the sutures, but we finally found one that will work.
He also cannot wear a cone to keep him from scratching that area, so we have improvised with socks, and since he kept shaking them off, they are now attached to his lover legs with self adhering tape.
He’s doing much better today and it won’t be long until this is just an unpleasant memory for him and we can get out and enjoy the warmer weather and the return of migrant birds.
